Support Nature and Your Community

There are many different ways you can donate to BVAS

Become a Member

Your membership will help us continue our efforts to inform and educate the public about the importance of preserving and protecting our unique natural resources here in North San Diego County. All donations are tax-deductible, and are used to maintain our Nature Center and to further our chapter’s mission to provide nature-oriented education and activities for our members and the community.

Donation to the Nature Center

The Nature Center provides valuable educational resources to the community and the next generation. Your contributions help make these events possible! Here are a few things that your donations help make possible:

$25--A fresh bucket of color sidewalk chalk for Johnny and Joey's Clubhouse.
$50--Two pairs of binoculars for visiting students to use.
$100--Kid's craft supplies for the Endangered Species Day Open House.
$300--A bunch of new nature books for the children's library.
$500--A telescope for the Nature Center observation deck.
$1,000--When combined with our two-for-one matching funds grant, this would result in a $3,000 contribution to the new Nature Center Endowment Fund.

Ridgway's Rail Society

The BVAS Ridgway’s Rail Society Fund is dedicated to supporting BVAS efforts to purchase land for conservation, obtain conservation easements, restore habitat, and provide for on-going habitat management. The BVAS Board set an initial goal of raising $1 million for the Fund.

Donation to the Ruddy Duck Club

This special group of local businesses and organizations support the nature education and recreation programs offered at the Buena Vista Audubon Nature Center with an annual donation of $100 or more. Honor Your Loved Ones with Memorial Gifts

Memorial gifts are a wonderful remembrance honoring the life of a special person. Making a gift in a friend or loved one’s name not only acknowledges someone special, but also makes a positive impact to your community because 100% goes to support the BVAS Nature Center and its free nature education programs.

BVAS will be pleased to recognize your gift with a notice in our newsletter.

Donations as a Gift

Unsure of what present to get your co-worker, friend, or loved one? Giving a living gift is an excellent way to recognize birthdays, anniversaries, weddings or any other milestone.

A special acknowledgment letter will be sent to the gift recipient informing them of your thoughtful gesture.

Donate that Old Clunker to BVAS

BVAS is now participating in the Cars 4 Causes donation program. Tax-deductible donations of any car, running or not, can be made through the Cars 4 Causes organization, for the benefit of BVAS. Avoid the hassle of trading in or selling that old car and help support the Nature Center. Just call 1-800-766-2273 and say you’d like to donate your vehicle to benefit BVAS. Cars 4 Causes will pick up your vehicle at your home, fill out the necessary paperwork, and provide the receipt for your tax deduction. Or click the below link to sign-up online.
