Bullock’s Oriole

This Bullock’s oriole is spending the holiday season at the Seaside Apartment complex in Carlsbad, and he’s not alone. At least one other Bullock’s oriole has also been spotted in the eucalyptus trees around the apartments, as well as an orchard oriole. Both species were seen at this location last year in December, as well as a Baltimore oriole. It’s likely the same birds are returning for another holiday stay, just in time to be included in this year’s Oceanside Christmas Bird Count on December 27.
