Carlsbad’s Prop A

Should Caruso Affiliated be allowed to build a mall overlooking the Agua Hedionda Lagoon in Carlsbad? The months-long debate will soon be settled by those Carlsbad residents who choose to cast their ballots at the special election on February 23. Citizens for North County, a group representing a coalition of environmental and civic organizations including
BVAS, is urging a “NO” vote on Prop A. The billionaire L.A. developer has now spent $7 million to secure project approvals and avoid a public environmental review. The Sierra Club reports that independent studies document potential problems with traffic, air pollution, toxic runoff into the lagoon, and the release of tons of greenhouse gases each year. Should this developer be allowed to write his own rules that impact our health and pollute our air and coastal waters?

Vote NO on A!
