ENDANGERED SPECIES DAY OPEN HOUSE

Celebrate Endangered Species Day Open House at the Buena Vista Audubon Society Nature Center Saturday, May 20, from 10 AM-2 PM.  Free!

Learn what you can do to protect your local endangered species through fun activities for the entire family!

Visit with hawks and falcons (until 1:00) and local snakes and lizards!

Dip into the lagoon and discover a whole new world of aquatic creatures under our high-powered microscope!

Make your own journal, mask, or native seed ‘bomb’, make a traditional basket with the California Indian Basket Weavers, and dissect a real owl pellet!

New this year is a “Bioblitz” where you can use your smartphone and observation skills to record as many species in the Buena Vista Lagoon area as possible.
