Our Volunteers
It’s been said many times over the years, but Buena Vista Audubon is what it is because of its members, many of whom volunteer at the center, in the children’s programs, or in positions of leadership.
Each year we wish old friends the best as they move on to new endeavors. And each year we are amazed at the enthusiasm and dedication of our newest arrivals. We’ll introduce some of our new volunteers in future editions. But it is only fitting we first express our admiration and gratitude to those who have served for many years.
Judi Wilson, Board Secretary, has served her final term and is looking forward to volunteering in other ways. Directors Steve Brad and Denise Riddle are leaving the board as well but will continue to lead walks and promote BVAS’s mission to support birding and conservation. Past Presidents Andy Mauro and Dennis Huckabay, while no longer on the board, remain active as volunteers, committee members, and lifetime consultants.
Finally, President Natalie Shapiro has closed out her term but will remain active on the board and in the community. Through advocacy, conservation, and community involvement, she has made —and will continue to make — an enormous difference.
