Becoming a Nature Guide!
IMPORTANT UPDATE! Our school programs have resumed!!! We are in need of volunteer Nature Guides. To join, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Rocco, at 760-419-6034 or roccobob@icloud.com. Or stop by the Nature Center and fill out a short form.
If you love nature and enjoy working with children, we have an opportunity for you! Nature Guides engage our youngest visitors in several ways
- Classroom Tours: Elementary-school children visit our center for a guided tour and short lessons on topics such as animals of the lagoon, insects, Native Americans, our watershed, and more.
- Special Events: Activity-filled days like Summer Camp and Endangered Species Day offer the community many ways to engage with nature and conservation
- Sharing Our Shores: Each winter and Spring, third and fourth graders are intruduced to Snowy Plovers, Least Terns, and their endangered habitats.

We need folks, 18 years and older, who would enjoy teaching young children about nature. We provide your training and materials. Your time commitment is up to you.
Please join our team of volunteers, Contact the Volunteer Coordinator, Rocco, at 760-419-6034 or roccobob@icloud.com. Or stop by the Nature Center and fill out a short form.
