This private reserve in Vista occupies 235 acres, including riparian woodland, chaparral, and grassy pastures. We should see a variety of raptors, woodpeckers, flycatchers, swallows, and sparrows. If there is time, we will head over to nearby Buena Vista Park and look at the pond for waterfowl.

Directions: From I-5 exit Palomar Airport Road and go east. Left on Melrose Drive, left on Dawson Drive. Park in the cul-de-sac near the iron gate. We will carpool the short distance into the reserve.
