Meet “Caulerpa Conquest” author Eric Muñoz!
September 8, 2016 @ 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Free
From 2000-2006, the Agua Hedionda Lagoon and the Southern California coastline were endangered by an invasive Mediterranean seaweed, Caulerpa taxifolia. Thanks to a community outpouring, the lagoon was saved. A major driving force of this effort, Eric Muñoz, describes one of Carlsbad’s proudest moments and his own journey in “Caulerpa Conquest.”
Join this community book signing/lecture event with Eric at the Buena Vista Audubon Nature Center (2202 S. Coast Hwy, Oceanside) on Thursday, September 8th, at 6:00 p.m. Eric will discuss his book, how Carlsbad became the only region in the world to eradicate Caulerpa taxifolia, and how the community came together to save the lagoon and coastline.
Refreshments served. Books are available for sale at the event, and also on Amazon and Open Books Press. For more information, please contact Natalie Shapiro, (406) 241-2153, or buenavistanature@gmail.com .
